DOWNTOWN: Per Angelenic, the short-lived Sixth Street Grill is now closed, to be replaced with an outpost of El Arco Iris, a Highland Park mainstay since 1964. They're shooting to open by the end of the year, early 2009. [PLYWOOD]

DOWNTOWN: The Downtown News has details on even more nightlife options coming to the Sixth and Spring area: The Association, a new project for Ashley Joyce (also owns The Room in Hollywood, Barcopa in SM and Coda and Sherman Oaks) for the basement of the Pacific Electric Lofts; and Santa Fe, Cedd Moses' tequila and mescal bar (more tequila!) planned for the Santa Fe Lofts. The Association is expected to open this month, Santa Fe early next year. [PLYWOOD]

WEHO: Spotted replacing the former Vita Health Foods next to Bristol Farms on Sunset: Sam's on Sunset. According to the signage and website, "bagels, brunch, lunch dinner" and "coming soon." [PLYWOOD]

VENICE: A reader spotted signage for Centanni Original Old World Italian Deli: "I've been driving past this space on Lincoln with its butcher paper covered windows for some time and noticed recently that an awning went up and today the front door was open and I could see someone up on a ladder. Sorry no photos." A Yo! Venice tipster noticed the same thing about a month ago, but no more details on it. [PLYWOOD]
