Put down the measuring cup, grab a glass of Pinot, and prepare to live life like a food network star. Hipcooks promises to help teach the cooking-challenged novice the fine art of making meals.

Forget your memories of High School Home-Ec. Hipcooks students brush up their food IQ in a relaxed “funky and fabulous” setting. And the best part is, a dinner party follows each class where participants get to eat their creations.

Measurements and stressful preparation are discouraged. Instead, instructors teach tasting to “tease out your inner chef.” Small groups take turns making a variety of fresh dishes. Cooking tips and lingo are carefully explained and if things get too stressful, you can always sip on a glass of wine.

Classes range from ‘A Romantic Dinner for Two’ and ‘Surprise Dinner Party’ to ‘Healthy, fresh and zingy’ and ‘Una Noche en España- a Tapas Class.’ As one Yelper put it, “Hip Cooks is the shiznit, I tell ya”

Hipcooks has two locations: Robertson Blvd and Downtown LA. Each class has a set price of $55, which includes healthy, fresh & organic (wherever possible) ingredients, supplies, beverages & wine with dinner. Private classes are also available.

Put the Budget Gourmet back in the freezer and grab an apron.
