Savor Currylicious Treats at the Thai Town Songkran Fest

Songkran, or the New Year in Thailand, traditionally happens in April. And every April Thai Town in Hollywood puts on a big, festive, food- and craft-filled to-do, complete with dancing, art-making, and delicious eats. And if you are a curry fan, then you should know that those delicious eats are very much about one of your favorite dishes, the spicy star of many a heart (and palate). In fact, the LA Curry Festival is large part of the Thai Town Songkran Festival, and the vendors lining the Hollywood Boulevard-based party include such notable restaurants as Bombay Cafe, Palms Thai, and Ngoma (we should also mention that the variety of curries is impressive; Africa, India, Thailand, Jamaica, and Indonesia are represented).

A Curry King will be chosen at the daylong celebration, a car will be raffled, and a colorful parade will take to the streets of Tinseltown. Oh, and did we mention the curry? Lovely, lovely curry...
