If you’re hungry for carrot cake anytime in the next week or so, head over to Stonefire Grill in Valencia. There is bound to be a piece or two left after the restaurant produced the largest carrot cake in the world in celebration of its 10th anniversary.

Stonefire Grill opened its doors to its first store in September of 2000, and now 10 years and six additional restaurants later, it has become one of Los Angeles County's most popular eating spots.

"Today's a really big celebration for us," said Marry Harrigan, the owner of the Stonefire restaurants.

The Valencia location offered a lunch special Sunday to thank guests for a decade of dedicated patronage. With a minimum donation of $1 toward Cystic Fibrosis, guests enjoyed a lunch full of Stonefire's signature dishes, including a mesquite grilled tri-tip, garlic mashed potatoes, a barbeque chopped salad, breadsticks, and of course, carrot cake.

The biggest part of the celebration was the production of the largest carrot cake in the world. The cake, which measured 10 feet by 10 feet, required 776 eggs, 400 pounds of flour, 400 cups of carrots and 400 cups of sugar to make.

The cake initially weighed in at about 1,600 pounds, and was estimated to be close to a ton with all the frosting and toppings added on top. The scorching hot weather did not stop guests waiting in line for hours to get a taste of the carrot cake.
