Visit London via La Cienega

Lawry's The Prime Rib, already an all-out kind of place most days of the year, throws its annual "A Christmas Carol" festivities on Sunday, November 30. Does that mean that you have to arrive in hand-muff and bonnet, or sporting a Scrooge-type top hat or pocket watch? Depends if you have those items dry-cleaned and ready to wear.

But other people will be dressed up in Victorian finery, and those people will be singing songs of snow and wassail and merry sleigh rides. Thespians will also be entertaining the Dickens out of diners as they perform scenes from the famous, ghost-laden play starring Mr. Scrooge and various holiday phantomry.

For the meal? For us, it's all about the Yorkshire Pudding, which we think is some kind of miracle food in taste, wonder, and crust crackability (try knocking it with a spoon and see). There's also prime rib -- natch -- and the famous spinning salad and creamed spinach, plus other tasties so rich they may even cause Ebenezer to crack a smile.
