Halo Top Debuts at The Grove with a Gooey Giveaway

Be one of the first 100 people to visit the new shop and walk away with a free soft serve or scoop of hand-packed ice cream.

What to Know

  • Friday, Aug. 24
  • Grand Opening
  • First 100 guests receive a free soft serve or scoop

Ice cream enjoyed on a warm summer Friday is like a front-yard sprinkler, a drive-in movie, and a swimming pool noodle of your own, all wrapped into one cold 'n sweet package.

If that ice cream is free?

Make that two pool noodles of your own, and a nighttime meteor shower, and a drive-in movie showing your favorite childhood film, which you watch after a day playing in the sprinklers.

That's going to happen, at least the free ice cream part, for the first 100 guests who call upon the brand-new Halo Top Scoop Shop on Friday, Aug. 24.

The location of this treat-tastic nexus of nice things to eat? The Grove.

And while the free-to-the-first-100-people giveaway will occure on the morning of Aug. 24, starting at 10 a.m., opening weekend convivialities will stretch right through to Sunday, Aug. 26.

Look for "(l)arger-than-life pint displays with hyper-sensory art installations" that may be viewed outside the shop, and if you're thinking you might have an Instagram moment with these colorful pieces, you're exactly right.

This is the third Halo Top Scoop Shop in the region, following Westfield Century City and Westfield Topanga. If you're now guessing that a Halo Top is expected at The Americana at Brand, a sister property to The Grove, later in 2018, you'd be exactly right again.

And right again: There are more Halo Tops to come. A shop is also due at The Lakes at Thousand Oaks, marking more stores for a sweet concoction that can trace its earliest days back to 2011, right here in Southern California.

As for one of Halo Top's best-known calling cards? It's the calorie count, which is billed as being "280-360 per pint."
