- TRADE Food Hall's "Hair of the Dog" series launches
- Barks & Brews at Citadel Outlets
Telling your favorite tail-wagger that there's only one National Dog Day on the calendar, and then pointing at the nearest calendar and explaining that there are 364 days a year that aren't officially National Dog Day, is akin to showing your hungry pup an empty box of chewie snacks.
You just don't want to do it, in short.
Because, truly? You know where we're going with this: Every day is Dog Day, when you live with and love upon a Lassie or Laddie.
That said, Aug. 26 is the dogly date when a few local spots put out the Fido welcome mat, complete with special doings.
And such will be the canine-sweet case on Sunday, Aug. 26 at both TRADE Food Hall in Irvine and the Citadel Outlets, off the 5 Freeway in Los Angeles.
At TRADE Food Hall on Aug. 26? It's a launch party for the hall's new Hair of the Dog Series. Look for a "curated group of dog vendors" to pop up at the foodie destination as well as special doings/tastes, like a Hair of the Dog cocktail from Center Hub.
The Scene
Want to find new things to do in Los Angeles? The Scene's lifestyle stories have you covered. Here's your go-to source on where the fun is across SoCal and for the weekend.
The Hair of the Dog series will bark on, each Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with rescue organization Barks of Love serving as the beneficiary.
And at the Citadel Outlets, just off the 5 Freeway, just a short haul southeast of DTLA?
It's Barks & Brews on Sunday, Aug. 26. The hours of the pet-adoptionful event are 4 to 7 p.m., and there's a craft beer garden, too, if you'd like some suds in the sunshine. There shall be "dog-friendly vendors," an artist drawing dog caricatures, and a photo booth, too.
Should you buy a beverage, the proceeds will go to Best Friends Los Angeles.
How will you celebrate your paw-cute, wet-nose'd bud, in addition to the around-SoCal events?
Maybe a special treat, maybe a special cuddle, maybe a special long walk, but probably all of the above, is what you'll go with, we're just (correctly) guessing.
