Kershaw Curveball Cocktail at The Mixing Room

Raise a toast to the Dodgers and the World Series at the J.W. Marriott Los Angeles L.A. Live.

A baseball's beautiful roundness and iconic circle-o-sity lends itself well to other well-known circular things.

Examples? A Ferris wheel, which is also notably round, or a cookie, which, yes, has a tendency to forgo the right angles, as does the top of a cupcake.

And it just so happens that a lot of our region's circular favorites are saluting the Los Angeles Dodgers during their rocking World Series moment in a variety of ways, with the Pacific Wheel at Santa Monica Pier, the black and white cookies at Canter's Deli, and Sprinkles Cupcakes all going blue and white.

There's another circular favorite, the coupe glass, that's helping to pay homage to the awesome athletes of Elysian Park. You can find it holding a delicious Kershaw Curveball at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. Live throughout the 2017 World Series, at either of the hotel's lobby bars.

But the special $14 Mixing Room beverage — it's also sold at gLAnce bar — isn't just a flavorful tequila sour with a photo-ready baseball design on top.

The libation is playing a part in a friendly rivalry between the J.W. Marriott Los Angeles L.A. Live and the JW Marriott Houston Downtown, which are sibling hotels (as their names suggest).

The upshot? If the Dodgers win, the general manager of the Houston hotel will dress in Dodger blue and sip a Kershaw Cocktail. If the Astros win, the general manager of the DTLA hotel, "a diehard Dodgers fan," will don Astros attire and drink the MVP Altuve.

It isn't just about bantering back-and-forth, though, between the California and Texas hotel staffs.

If the Dodgers win, the Houston hotel has to "...put our Kershaw's Curveball on their menu for a week and donate proceeds to the California Wildfire Relief and Recovery Fund. If the Astros win, we have to sell their MVP Altuve in our bar, with proceeds to the Astro's Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund," says a statement on the LA hotel's Facebook page.

Want to sip the Kershaw Curveball while the World Series action is still hot? No need to wait: Buy the beverage now and catch the games live at the lobby bars at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. Live.
