Construction Watch: Pico Aliso Gold Line Stop

Following October's "umbrella/tree" awnings in Little Tokyo, this month we get "bridge" awnings at the Pico Aliso stop in Boyle Heights. At least we think they look like bridges, guessing that they're supposed to mimic the 1st street bridge that carries the Gold Line (now 90 percent done) across the river. The construction seen in the background is East LA Area High School #1, the first new high school in LA's east side in 85 years (construction pics to follow). Don't know if we want to open a can of worms here, but, yes, the stop is at-grade. Directly in front of a high school. Rendering of the stop in the gallery.--Dan Caroselli
