Early Look At That Beverly Grove Prefab Project

The rendering fairy flew in our window last night, lugging along a very pretty image of what would be--well, if built--Los Angeles' first multi-unit prefab housing development. This project, planned for the Beverly Grove area and mentioned on the site last year, would offer eight units (each residence would be about 1,600 square feet each). We're hearing this interesting-sounding project is still in the pre-construction and that this thing is made of wood. (Alternatively, prefab mavens Marmol Radziner uses steel, while architect Peter DeMaria loves those shipping containers.) If this is wood, let's hope it's recycled wood from all those unsold spec homes wasting away in the suburbs. The architect is Work/Plays, who declined to comment on the project.
