Our politicians may have lost their bid to give special incentives to production companies to keep filming in Los Angeles and the rest of California, but City Council President Eric Garcetti is now pushing to create an Echo Park Film District. Among other things, the district rules would alert residents to filming shoots (and likely try to make the area more friendly to production companies, we're guessing). In addition to downtown, where some residents bitch about all the filming, this would be the second film district in the city. [LA CD13]
