The City of Long Beach has declared itself to be the Aquatics Capital of America. Take that... ummm, Waterville, Maine. The Press-Telegram reports the decision may have its detractors, but the City Council is generally happy with the name. "Whether Long Beach should have the title may be debatable - after all, the city's coastline has some of the worst water quality in the state... Council members unanimously supported the city's new title, though Long Beach's own beach and water challenges weren't lost on council members either." [Press-Telegram]
