The current financial markets may be culling the condo development herd, but hotels continue to show evolutionary resilience. Meet the latest: Le Peer Hotel, 70-room boutique hotel proposed for La Peer (near Melrose) in West Hollywood. First spotted on a list of new projects compiled by the Architect's Newspaper last month, the project (by local architecture firm Moule & Polyzoides) will offer hotel rooms, as well as seven condos, a restaurant, and retail. A call to the developer AJ Khair's office reveals that the project is currently in the entitlement stage; ground breaking in 2009. This hotel joins a long list of either under-construction, recently renovated, or planned hotels in and around Los Angeles.
