Was that the sound of the modular bubble popping? This announcement is currently on the front page of the web site for Modtech, a Perris-based builder of modular structures: "Modtech Holdings, Inc., a Delaware Corporation (Debtor) filed a voluntary petition under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code on October 20, 2008. The Debtor continues to operate its business as a Debtor in Possession..." According to the web site, Modtech builds modular homes, schools, hospitals, and other fine structures (pictured above is the "Iguana," a modular green classroom). In January, the company signed an exclusive agreement with LivingHomes’ Ray Kappe to develop a line of homes.
