As construction on the Solair mixed-use condo tower draws to a close, the sidewalk around the building begins to spring back to life. Scaffolding above the Purple Line subway portal was taken down this weekend—sadly, just in time for the rainy season. The area certainly looks less cluttered, but that awkward scaffolding shielded the elements for those waiting for the Western Avenue bus. Maybe, one day there'll be an umbrella vendor a 'la New York. There are already minstrels (not pictured here) setting up shop in the busy corner, singing for their supper.
