Streets We Love: Chandler Blvd in Sherman Oaks

This is one of those amazing streets you end up on when you make a wrong turn. The tree-lined stretch of Chandler Boulevard between Ethel Avenue and Tyrone Avenue in Sherman Oaks (north of the 101) makes our list of favorite streets because of the mature pine trees, the big grassy median (so rare in LA) and the well kept homes that line the street. It's also notable for the complete lack of sidewalks. Despite being a relatively wide roadway, traffic remains light. There's even a bike lane! The only drawback we noted was the creeping intrusion of stucco mcmansions among the ranch homes, cottages and colonials. Email us if you want a street featured.
