A perfect storm of 9s came together Wednesday for 99 Cents Stores.
In the spirit of 9-9-09, nine couples were married for 99 cents at the store's Hollywood location.
The discount chain, which cleared $1.2 billion in sales in 2008, sent the couples off in a limousine, with $99.99 in cash. They were brought to an undisclosed "famous romantic Los Angeles" spot.
All nine couples married in the store at 5270 Sunset Blvd. will get a free night's stay, including dinner, at the Hotel Angeleno in Brentwood.
One of the brides got to wear a Chanel-inspired wedding dress created by "Discount Diva" Kathy Jacobs.
The couples even received a receipt.
And there's more to wring out of 9-9-09. The store's weekly ad mentions that any 9 lb., 9 oz. baby born Wednesday will get $999.99.
