At Smashbox: Debra Davenport's 'Board Room to After Hours' Affair

5 Falltacular Ways to Connect With Your Family

Hailing from Phoenix, Arizona, designer Debra Davenport is aiming to transition women "from the board room to after hours social functions," per her bio. The vibe was Carmelo Soprano meets OC ladies who lunch, the collection going astray in the details—taupe cropped pants with a bell hem; white flared pants with flowers attached at the knee; bikini with silk georgette train at the back; button-down shirt with lattice back; orange gown with exposed belly and back through a sort of basket weave; strapless silk geogette and silk charmeuse cocktail dress with an awkward bird- or wave-like flourish at the top; what looked like elasticized jeweled backs, which made even the model seem to have back fat. The accessories didn't work for us either, with fresh flowers as headpieces too much like flower arrangements deserving of big pots and a garrison hat paired with a bridal gown.
