DVF's New Comic Book and Wonder Woman-Inspired Collection

Diane von Furstenberg's mantra of female empowerment is well known, so it's fitting that she would turn herself into a superhero for her to-be-released DC ComicsBe the Wonder Woman You Can Be, Featuring the Adventures of Diva, Viva & Fifa.” Illustrated by artist Konstantin Kakanias, WWD reports on the comic book, which presents women conquering challenges and following personal and professional dreams—in DVF clothes, of course:

"Diva, for instance, finds herself in a downtown bar to celebrate a male colleague’s successful leveraged buyout and his pending promotion. It turns out, however, that Diva was the brains behind the project. She looks at a reflective surface and sees a DVF, which emboldens her to 'Be the Wonder Woman you can be.' Diva makes the point the lbo was her idea, and lands a promotion."

Meanwhile, Viva looks to DVF for courage to sing on stage, and lands a record deal, and Fifa, a mom-of-three, manages to attend a Gourmet Cooking award competition (and win), despite the trials of finding time and juggling responsibilities. DVF told the trade: "I am Diva, Viva and Fifa altogether, I am DVF...It’s not so much that I identify with each of them, though. The idea is that if you feel insecure, look at yourself in the mirror, and through the reflection remember to be the Wonder Woman you can be...”

The comic will sell for $25 at DVF boutiques and at dvf.com, along with a special $50 tee and $230 tote, benefiting Vital Voices, an org that helps to empower women. The release also comes in conjunction with her Wonder Woman-inspired holiday collection.
