Tiaras and Frosting and Honeymoons, Oh My

June may be the traditional month for weddings, but the winter months that precede it are the traditional months for mad, full-on wedding prep. You only have to turn on the cable to see that a whole bunch of a lot goes into nuptial necessities, which occasionally results in a colorful meltdown, but just as often in a beautiful wedding. It's all entertaining to us.

But, meltdowns aside, it is still a joy (with just a splash of stress to keep things lively) for the bride-to-be to put together her big day, and that's where BrideWorld comes in. During the weekend of January 17-18, brides and mothers and mothers-in-law and flower girls and the occasional groom gather en masse to stroll the aisles of the Los Angeles Convention Center, talking to reps from banquet facilities around town, chitchatting beauty professionals, talking tunes with disc jockeys and considering tuxes and balloons and favors and cakes and confetti and rings and all the everything that comes with a wedding.

So whether you're getting married/want to get married/need to jump into taffeta and veils and honeymoons for a day (mental vacation), BrideWorld draws near. It's big. C'mon, a *world* of bride? We'll just have to fight to pull ourselves away from the cake toppers, which endlessly enthrall us (Legos, glow-in-the-dark, edible, etc.).
