While downward dog, one of the classic poses of any yoga routine, can make a person promptly think of a canine enjoying a satisfying stretch, the back-opening favorite isn't the only on-the-mat movement that reminds we humans of dogs.

In fact, just about every pose has a bit of pup to it, and you don't have to stretch too far to prove why: Dogs are forever in the moment, a state yoga practitioners seek to summon with every practice.

Call canines some of the most ultimate yogis out there. And call Saturday, March 23 the day to celebrate that, and also find your own center, in the sunshine, among other humans and hounds at LA State Historic Park.

The arf-able event is called Puppies & Planks, which tells you much, while simultaneously pulling your heartstrings.
