Several single-vehicle crashes and at least three crashes involving big rigs were among the traffic problems reported early Monday as a winter storm brought rain to Southern California.

The eastbound 210 Freeway at Baldwin Avenue was closed Monday after a big rig crash. Traffic backed up to Sierra Madre before lanes reopened at about 6:50 a.m.
A tanker truck crashed near the 210-5 freeway interchange at about 3 a.m. The SigAlert was canceled early Monday after the truck lane on the southbound 5 Freeway was reopened.
A car and big rig collided early Monday in Culver City on the 405 Freeway at Washington Boulevard, prompting a 30-minute lane closure. Four people were hospitalized, but details regarding injuries were not immediately available.
A cold series of storms could bring up to a half inch of rain and snow to Southern California this week as a low-pressure system hovers near the West Coast, forecasters said. Forecasters expect light rain through Monday with a colder storm and heavier rain and mountain snow possible on Wednesday into early Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
"By tonight, expect dry conditions," said NBC4 forecaster Elita Loresca.
Gusty winds will develop in the mountains and deserts.
Rainfall totals through Monday for Orange and San Bernardino counties could range from one to two tenths of an inch at lower elevations to one-quarter to one-half inch on the coastal mountain slopes.

Snow levels could drop to around 6,000 feet into Monday with a couple of inches of snowfall possible, above 6,500 feet.
A colder low pressure system from the northwest could bring moderate rain west of the mountains with snow levels dropping to as low as 3,500 feet.
Officials were warning motorists to drive carefully as mountain roads may be difficult at times due to dense fog, slick roads, strong winds and snow.
