First of Two Storms Might Bring Rain, Snow to Southern California on Tuesday

A dry start to the week will give way to clouds and rain as two storm systems move toward Southern California.

The first system is spinning Monday off the Northern California coast, but it might move into the Bay Area Tuesday morning. The system could reach Southern California by Tuesday evening.

Expect "on-again, off-again rain shower activity," said NBC4 forecaster Elita Loresca.

Rainfall Estimates:

Coast/Valleys: 0.33 to 0.75 inches
Foothills/Mountains: 0.75 to 1.50 inches
Above 6,000 Feet: Six to 12 inches of snow

Snow levels might drop to 4,500 to 5,000 feet by Wednesday morning.

A second storm system is expected to arrive Thursday night. Rain might continue into Friday and Saturday morning.
