HALLOWEEN HIGH JINKS... settle into Southern California in many forms, from frightful haunted houses to eerie garden walks to colossal conventions that feature all sorts of ghosty products and make-up tips and costumes. But for many Halloween-loving revelers, it is all about the spooky shopping opportunities. Heading to an eerie emporiums that has all sorts of seasonal decorations can put one in the falltime mood, a mood that generally heightens around September. But Roger's Gardens, that go-to for all manner of pretty plants, fabulous flowers, and delightful décor, just can't wait for September to launch its famous Halloween Boutique. It is starting in August, on the last day of the month, in fact, which means fans of this annual happening can start stocking up on their decorative owls, witch-tastic home goods, and more before autumn actually arrives.

FRIDAY, AUG. 31... is the first day of the boutique's run, and it already has its intriguing 2018 theme: Hocus Pocus. This sizable season-sweet to-do will be open each day "through mid-October," and visitors will see all sorts of "curiosities and antiquities," as well as a host of buyable treasures that are both elegant and boast a touch of eek. There are multiple rooms at the Halloween Boutique, as is tradition with this yearly happening, making it one of the largest ghouly go-tos in the region. Want to stock up on dishware, gewgaws, or other manner of Halloween-y items? It's all free to see, and you might find home goods that fit perfectly into your October vibe. Corona del Mar is the city, and Aug. 31 is day one of this magical seasonal pop-up, mwah ha ha.
