It's a Sunshiny 16th for the Indian Wells Arts Festival

You've been longing for a huge 'n warm outdoor art stroll? The desert town has you covered.

LIKE RABBITS HOPPING... for great places to hide Easter eggs, Californians regularly hop for the desert resorts when springtime arrives. It isn't just the mondo music festivals that draw them to the toastier climes of the Golden State; art and dining happenings sprout like so many bougainvillea blossoms, giving further luster to the region's busy cultural calendar. And one of the majors is up next, as March transforms into April, in Indian Wells. That fact alone should lead you to calling out "oh, it must be the Indian Wells Arts Festival," but if you didn't just shout that, no worries. Perhaps, though, this is the year you get to know the painting-packed, textile-terrific, sculpture-filled spectacular. It's taking place on Friday, March 30, Saturday, March 31, and Sunday, April 1, which is Easter. As for what you'll see there? "Plenty" is the short 'n sassy answer, but it works, brevity-wise, for...

OVER 200 ARTISTS... will show and sell their "one-of-a-kind" pieces. Those pieces will hail from every corner of the visual arts, covering "31 mediums and categories" like glass blowing, pottery, photography, and lots more. Well, "lots more" isn't the half of it, and adding further to all of the spirit-enriching goodness is the Gourmet MarketPlace, which will feature bunches of bite-worthy products with an edible bent. Artist demos, live tunes, Eggs + Champagne in the Garden on March 30 and April 1, the Champagne Circle Bar (hello, mimosas), and so many other lovely details await. You've been wanting a huge art festival, like the ones that pop up quite frequently come summer? Here it is, nearly a full three months before summer even starts. An adult ticket is $13, while kids ages 12 and under are admitted for free.
