An Art Oasis within a Concrete Jungle

Within the concrete jungle lies an oasis of art, Hauser & Wirth. California Live’s Laila Muhammad takes us to a hidden gem in the heart of Downtown LA. Set in a former flour mill, Hauser & Wirth is a gallery that connects art with architecture and community. The expansive space also features an open garden with a chicken coop that provides fresh ingredients used by the onsite restaurant, Manuela. The gallery features artists from all walks of life. One of the exhibits featured is “Gary Simmons: Remembering Tomorrow.” His art will be on display until May. Laila was able to speak to him, learn what Gary Simmons had to say about his collection of work.
