NewsConference: Prop. 23, Anita Mangels, Yes on Prop. 23 and Steve Maviglio, No on Prop. 23

Proposition 23 is one of the nine propositions in the Ca. 2010 November ballot. It’s one of most controversial propositions. It seeks to suspend AB 32, the Global Warming Act of 2006. If it passes, it will suspend the greenhouse emissions law…the strictest in the nation…until the state’s unemployment rate drops to 5.5% for at least a year. Ballot wording proved to be controversial. A Sacramento Superior Court Judge amended the ballot description in early August. The initiative was launched by San Antonio-based Valero Energy Corp. and Tesoro Inc.
