Placentia Man Sentenced for DUI Crash That Killed Mom and Two Kids

The three had just left a friend's party.

A Placentia man was sentenced to more than nine years in prison Friday for a drunken driving crash that killed a woman and her two children.

Nicholas Stephen Munoz, 28, who pleaded guilty in June to gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and driving under the influence of alcohol in a crash that caused injury, was sentenced to nine years and eight months.

Munoz killed 35-year-old Patricia Ledezma and her daughters, 7-year-old Stephanie and 3-year-old Diana, as they crossed West La Jolla Street in Placentia about 10:20 p.m., Aug. 20, 2016, according to Senior Deputy District Attorney Dan Feldman.

They had just left a friend's party.
