Deputies uncovered an illegal marijuana growth of more than 1,000 plants at a commercial building in La Mirada, and five suspects were arrested, a sheriff's lieutenant said.
A call was made into the sheriff's Norwalk station about 5:30 p.m. Saturday, to report that someone was trying to break into a building in the 14000 block of Industry Circle, said Lt. Tracy Stewart of the sheriff's Norwalk station.
Deputies looking for a possible burglary suspect discovered the illegal growth and arrested five people in connection with the illegal operation, said Stewart.
