Tasting Taste of the Nation

It's billed as "the nation's largest culinary benefit" and that feels spot on. After all, Taste of the Nation annually visits dozens of cities and works with hundreds of restaurants in dishing up specialties all in the name of raising funds to end childhood hunger. Millions of dollars have been raised over the last 21 years -- just over 70 million, in fact -- and brand-new chefs and superstar cooks return, time and again, to be a part of the event.

A major undertaking, to be sure, but Share Our Strength, the lauded organization behind Taste, is up to the important task. And, like past Junes, SOS is putting out the tables, the plates, and the warm welcome for the Los Angeles Taste of the Nation. On Sunday, June 14th, chefs from Mozza, XIV, Comme Ca, Animal, Loteria Grill and dozens more will gather in Media Park in Culver City to saute, grill, and cook up yummy things aplenty; demos and other toque-themed to-dos are also on the roster.

It's an afternoon affair -- 1-4PM -- and KCRW is playing the tunes. Advance general admission is $125 -- $135 at the door -- and fully 100-percent of tickets go to supporting Share Our Strength.
