Car Snaps Power Pole, Shears Fire Hydrant in Cypress Park

A car crashed into a power pole and sheared a fire hydrant in Cypress Park. Beverly White reports for the NBC4 News at 11 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015.

Hundreds were left without power after a vehicle struck a fire hydrant, a power pole and a  building in Cypress Park Thursday night.

The male driver was hospitalized after the crash on the 2600 block of North Roseview Avenue around  9:45 p.m.

He was treated and released with minor injuries. He was not found to have been driving under the influence of alcohol.

In total 241 electric customers are with out power, and there is no estimated time for when service will return, LADWP said.
