A firefighter searched the master bedroom and discovered the dog in a closet.

A dog was reunited with his family after a firefighter rescued him from a burning home and revived him with an oxygen mask in Riverside, fire officials said Tuesday.

Fire crews went to a house fire at 1:35 a.m. in the 4400 block of Lyon Street and fought to contain the blaze, according to City of Riverside Fire Department.

A firefighter searched the master bedroom and discovered the dog in a closet, conscious but very lethargic.

The firefighter rescued the animal, and brought the family dog to the family anxiously waiting outside.

The dog was revived with an oxygen mask, and taken to a local animal hospital.

There were no injuries to the family or firefighters, but the damages totaled about $150,000.
