Release of Pursuit Suspect Prompts Concern

A 29-year-old domestic violence suspect arrested after a three-hour pursuit on freeways and streets was released on bail Friday morning, raising concerns and questions why the agency responsible for supervising his last release from prison had not intervened to keep him in custody for violating the terms of that release. Patrick Healy reported for the NBC4 News at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2019, shortly before confirmation that the Orange County Probation Department had located Alexis Avina, 29, and taken him back into custody.
