Early Morning Earthquake Shakes Southern San Bernardino County

A magnitude-3.5 earthquake struck southern San Bernardino County overnight, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The quake hit at 2:10 a.m. at a depth of 5.5 miles, its epicenter 6 miles north of Yucaipa, according to a computer-generated report from the USGS. There were no reports of damage or injuries.

Weak to light shaking was reported in Mentone, about 65 miles east of Los Angeles, Yucaipa, Running Springs, Redlands and other nearby communities.
