Firefighter Stabbed in Hospital Emergency Room

A firefighter was stabbed in a Boyle Heights hospital emergency room Tuesday night, police said.

The stabbing occurred around 9:30 p.m. at White Memorial Medical Center at 1720 Cesar Chavez, according to the LAPD.

The suspect was described as a 25-to-30 year old man. Police said they did not know if the suspect knew the firefighter, and suspect the attack may have been random.

The firefighter, who was stabbed in the arm, was expected to survive.

The circumstances surrounding the stabbing were unclear.
