Crews Fight Blaze at West Hollywood Apartments

Firefighters are responding to reports of a fire at an apartment complex in West Hollywood.

Fire ravaged at least two floors of West Hollywood apartment building Thursday afternoon, sending one firefighter to the hospital and causing plenty of damage. Mekahlo Medina reports from West Hollywood for the NBC4 News at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014.

One firefighter suffered a twisted knee battling that three-alarm apartment building fire in West Hollywood.

He was taken to a hospital for treatment, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The blaze was reported around 4 p.m. Thursday at an apartment building in the 1200 block of North Horn Avenue in West Hollywood.

Elyse Eisenberg said it was the second fire at the complex in 15 years.

"I went out on the balcony," she said. "I heard the helicopters and fire trucks and I could see the black smoke rising from the building."
