Woman Fatally Shot in Parking Area at Glendale Town Home Complex

The gunman fled in a vehicle after the shooting in the 2900 block of Montrose Avenue

A 67-year-old woman was shot dead in Glendale, leading police to believe the motive was robbery. Ted Chen reports for the NBC4 News at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2017.

A 67-year-old shooting victim found late Tuesday in her Glendale town home complex garage has died.

The woman, identified as resident Hy Soon Oh, was found next to a parked car at the complex in the 2900 block of Montrose Avenue, said Glendale police Sgt. Robert William. The woman was taken to a hospital where she died, William said.

She suffered a single gunshot wound, police said. Detectives said the initial investigation indicates she was likely targeted for a robbery as she returned home from work.

The victim lived in the residential complex where the shooting occurred. Two men who said they are the woman's husband and brother said she ran a business inside a South Los Angeles swap meet.

Neighbors told NBC4 they heard a scream and gunfire.

"Just stunned," said resident Helen Salas. "It was a big bang, like somebody dropped a pan or something. You don't think it's going to be gunfire."

The male shooter jumped into a vehicle, fleeing the scene, William said.

A description of the shooter's car was not immediately available. A motive is unknown.

No arrests were reported early Wednesday.
