Pill-Shaped Camera Goes Where Doctors Cannot

McKenzie Hrabik is undergoing treatment for Crohn’s disease, and has been suffering from chronic stomach pains that the doctors. Hrabik swallowed a pill-shaped camera to help her doctors learn why her symptoms are acting up. The camera travels into the small intestine where most chemical digestion takes place but where doctors cannot see. Over an eight-hour period, the camera took some 100,000 images from Hrabik’s digestive track. Dr. Bruce Hensel reports for the NBC4 News at 5 p.m. on Nov. 19, 2012.
