Fans Rally After Kings Win Stanley Cup

Fans of the Los Angeles Kings couldn’t contain their excitement after their home team won their second Stanley Cup after a fierce double-overtime game against the New York Rangers. Jacob Rascon reports for the NBC4 News at 11 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2014.

Angelenos rallied outside the Staples Center Friday night after the Los Angeles Kings took their second Stanley Cup victory in three years.

The Kings beat the New York Rangers in a 3-2 double-overtime win after an intense series that came close to a sweep.

"We want the cup!" chants turned to "We got the cup!"

"It was so intense, I didn't know what was going to happen, but we won, and now we're the Stanley Cup champions," a fan said.

Aerial video showed excited fans leaving the downtown Los Angeles venue after the sold-out game as police officers lined walkways.

At least three people were arrested after the game, including one person who was drunk in public and two people who wouldn't leave a restaurant, Los Angeles police said.
