Life Connected: Marathon Goddess Runs for Pancreatic Cancer

Dubbed the “Marathon Goddess,” Julie Weiss has earned her title yet again by running for her father, who died of pancreatic cancer just one month after being diagnosed. In November she completed “30 Days of Hope” in honor of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, walking or running every day with someone affected. A diagnosis that often starts patients on a frightening and sometimes lonely journey, Weiss just wants people to know there is hope, that anything is possible, and that “we can beat this thing!” Kathy Vara reports for the NBC4 News at 11 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013.
