4-year-old boy found safe in Long Beach after Amber Alert

Police said 4-year-old Justin Chan was reunited with his parents.

A 4-year-old was reunited with his family in Long Beach after an amber alert was issued when his fathers vehicle was stolen with him inside. Robert Kovacik reports for the NBC4 News on Feb. 13, 2024.

An Amber Alert that was issued on behalf of the Long Beach Police Department was canceled Tuesday evening after a missing child was located in Long Beach.

Authorities had initially said a 4-year-old boy was taken in Long Beach at around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when someone took the car belonging to a delivery driver. And the boy was inside the car at the time.

A couple of hours later, the car in which the 4-year-old riding was found abandoned near the Pike Outlets.

Authorities said Justin reunited with his parents.
