American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society (ACS) is the largest voluntary health organization and a global grassroots force of more than three million volunteers. The Society has contributed to a 20% decline in US cancer death rates since 1991 and, thanks in part to our research, early detection and prevention programs, and free patient and caregiver services, 14.5 million American cancer survivors will celebrate birthdays this year.

American Cancer Society Road to Recovery volunteer drivers provide cancer patients with free transportation to and from treatment. Without this lifesaving service, many patients who can’t drive themselves won’t complete treatment.  All that’s needed is a compassionate heart, an insured vehicle, a standard background check and as little as two hours a month.  To volunteer, click here.
