Every kid needs a hobby. Skate boarding's an option. Comic books are big. But for 12-year-old Trevor Moran, it's doing music videos. More specifically -- videos he make of himself dancing (rather uninhibitedly) in Apple retail stores.
And now, two years later, the Temecula boy has developed quite a following. His Apple store dance to will.i.am's "Check it Out" has received more than 1.3 million hits. In it Moran squares the camera to himself and his big blue glasses and starts lip synching and flailing about.
He seems to choose shots with random spectators. In this case, three teenage girls stand behind him, and appear to be intermittently curious, horrified and amused.
At 1:25, Moran changes camera angles, allowing for a big dance move across the store.
Moran has also done dance videos to Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" and "Telephone," and Rihanna's "S&M" to name just a few. In "Whip My Hair" by Willow, his friend Spencer guest stars with him and occasionally Apple employees can be seen throwing their arms up in the background. But there is no question as to who is the star here.
Moran introduces himself at the top of each video, and usually warns viewers that it is going to be "intense."
Trevor is a homeschooled seventh-grader and has taken his show on the road to Apple stores in Mission Viejo, New York, San Diego and Temecula.
