Treat Your Friends to a Night Out for Free

This gift is just a click away and you won't need your wallet

Want to give away gift cards to local restaurants to 30 of your closest friends -- for free?

The Web site Restaurant.com is running the Feed It Forward program this month, which lets you e-mail $10 gift certificates to your loved ones.

Joining the program lets you e-mail certificates to up to 30 people per day -- every day -- until Dec. 25 at midnight PST. You can also give via a Facebook application.

Most of the participating restaurants have a $20 minimum purchase.

The gift certificates expire in one year, except here in California and where prohibited by law.

But don't procrastinate -- you can only give "while quantities last." Feed It Forward will close down the buffet when $30 million worth of gift certificates have been given out.

So far, participants have given $5.85 million in gift cards.
