Bears Break into Occupied Monrovia Home

Jason Lee snapped several photos of two bruins that broke into his Monrovia home to rummage through food and garbage cans. Lucy Noland reports for NBC4 News.

A couple of bears left a Monrovia home in shambles Wednesday.

"I look over and I see this bear head sticking out, and it broke through our window screen and it’s peeking into our home," said Jason Lee, Monrovia resident. "So that’s when I started really freaking out."

Lee and the bear made eye contact, and the bruin started traipsing into the home.

Lee grabbed his dog, ran to an upstairs bedroom and locked the door -- but not before capturing a few pictures of the unwanted guest (below).

When animal control officials arrived, the bears were in the backyard. Agents scared the animals back into the woods.
