A mama black bear and her cubs made a Monrovia backyard their home Friday afternoon where they rested in trees and drank water from the fountain. Gordon Tokumatsu reports for NBC4 News at 5 p.m. from Monrovia Friday, Sept. 25, 2014.

A momma bear and her cubs were climbing trees, nibbling at fruit and exploring a Monrovia nieghborhood Friday.

Homeowner Kate Clark said the bear, who she nicknamed "Bernadine," and her two cubs have been in the area for weeks, and she has gotten used to their peaceful presence.

"She's a good mom. She lives in this area," Clark said. "We see her a lot."

Unfortunately, not everyone is happy with the wandering family. Clark said her cat has been in a bad mood because he can't go outside when the bears are around.

Clark said neither Fish and Wildlife or Morovia police have been called on the bears.
