Big Bear Opens Its Lifts Ahead of Schedule

With early season snowfall, Big Bear kicked off the ski season early. Tony Shin reports for the NBC4 News at 5 p.m. on Nov. 13, 2015.

Bear Mountain and Snow Summit opened for the 2015-2016 season on Friday, much earlier than anticipated.

Last time there was an El Niño weather pattern affecting California, the resorts received over 300 inches of snow, and the whole area is hoping for something similar this year. It would give a big boost to the local businesses, and keep the skiers and snowboarders happy after last year's lackluster snowfall.
