A small wildfire Thursday received a huge response in Santa Clarita because of the dangers posed by high winds. At least 100 firefighters responded to a small brush fire Thursday afternoon in Santa Clarita.
Aerial and ground units attacked the fire, which was held at less than 5 acres, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The fire broke out at Soledad Canyon Road and Gladding Way (map) at about 1:50 p.m. Soleded Canyon Road was closed between Commuter Way and Ruether Avenue.
No structures are threatened, according to fire officials.
Red flag warnings, indicating high fire danger, are expected to go into effect throughout much of Southern California Thursday night. Winds gusts might reach 65 mph in some areas.
