Warrant Issued for Lingerie Store Arson Suspect

The suspect allegedly set fire to lingerie purchased at Intimate Obsessions by her ex-boyfriend, then threw them at the store

A warrant has been issued for a woman accused of using a pillowcase stuffed with gasoline-soaked lingerie to start a fire at the store where her boyfriend purchased the gifts.

An Orange County Superior Court judge issued the warrant for Jennifer Renee Colwell after she failed to show up for a pre-trial hearing Friday. The 42-year-old Colwell, of Dana Point, earlier pleaded not guilty to felony arson of property in connection with an Oct. 2 fire at Intimate Obsessions at 34183 Pacific Coast Highway.

Colwell packed a pillowcase with items that her ex-boyfriend purchased at the store and soaked them in gasoline, according to Orange County Sheriff's Department investigators. She then lit them on fire and threw the burning lingerie pillowcase at the store, investigators said.

An off-duty deputy saw the fire and a vehicle leaving the store property, leading to Colwell's arrest.
