An investigation was underway after a man, woman and toddler were found dead in a Downey apartment Wednesday evening, police said..

"I heard a girl screaming for help, and she was carrying a baby, and it looked like [there was] blood on the baby," Christina Pena, neighbor, said.

Police responded to the 7300 block of Neo Street near the cross street Old School River Road.

Loved ones became concerned when they didn't hear from the deceased for two days.

The door to the apartment located on the second floor was locked, family members told police.
